'Carefully Sourced, Wearable Art'
Drawing on her background as a current Costumiere in the film industry and combining it with her skills as a taxidermist, Tamsin Pearson creates truly one of kind headpieces and accessories.
‘It all started by not having a hat to wear to my cousin’s wedding so I attached a magpie to a headband and wore that instead. Needless to say it caused a bit of a stir and gave people something to talk about!’
Soon realising there were very few unusual headpieces on the market, In Full Plume was born.
As a vegan and animal lover the welfare of the birds used in her work is at the forefront of her mind. She takes great care when sourcing. All birds have either died of natural causes or are obtained from UK licensed Gamekeepers in accordance with UK Wildlife & Countryside Act of 1981, and would otherwise have been destroyed.
Trained by master Taxidermist Mike Gadd during her Fine Art degree in 2013, Tamsin has been producing quality work ever since. Paired with her costume knowledge and millinery experience she aims to use this traditional art form to create ethically sourced wearable art for the adventurously stylish.
As of July 2018 Tamsin became a successful candidate on The Prince's Trust Young Enterprise Programme.
And in 2022 she was added to "The Costume Directory", a resource of 'suppliers who are commited to upholding the rights of people and nature, and who prioritize sustainability, environmental responisibility and fair trade' created by Sinéad Kidao.
